App Intro

Create budgets for everything you want each month and set specific dollar amounts for each budget category. Track funds to see how close you are to affording that car, vacation, or home. Track your debt so you can get a better understanding of how close you are to paying it off, and how much of your monthly budget is going towards paying off that debt.

Basically EveryDollar is an all in one app to show you where your money is going so that you can control where you want it to go.

Likes/Dislikes

Likes

  • Easy to see how much you’ve spent total, how much is left total, plus thes same metrics for each budget category.
  • There is a favorites feature that allows you to see the budgets you care most about at a glance.
  • You can give certain budgets due dates which is nice for things like rent or gym memberships that occur at the same time each month.
  • Funds are fun for things you may be saving money towards, which could make this a great feature for kids using the app as well. You can track each month how much you’ve been able to put towards that fund. Examples may be: buying a car, emergency savings fund, buying a new bike, getting a new video game, etc.
  • You can split up your transactions between multiple budgets. So if you purchase included groceries and personal items you can split the expense and make tracking even easier.

Disikes

  • It’s not super straightforward as to how each feature works. It requires a month’s worth of figuring out the app in order to know which features you like or don’t like.
  • You have to create a budget for each month...which isn’t horrible because they at least copy over your budget from the previous month as a “getting started” point and then you can alter/edit that budget. But I’d rather have an option when you make each budget item to say if this should be copied each month automatically.
  • You can’t rearrange the order of the budget list.

Additional Thoughts

The basic features of the app are pretty straightforward and easy to use. The interface allows you to see the most important things about your budget at a glance, and you can easily add both expenses and incomes with just one click.
